Bentura M. Salgado, Jr.

Bentura M. Salgado, Jr. passed away in Greeley, Colorado at the age of 61. He was a Sweetwater resident.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Charles Okonkwo officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.

Mr. Salgado was born on November 21, 1950 in Sweetwater. He married Luzemma Salazar on October 21, 1969. For 28 years, Bentura worked for Santa Fe Railroad as a section foreman. He worked for Pace Packing for two and half years. Bentura enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.

Survivors include: Wife- Emma Salazar-Salgado of Sweetwater; Daughter- Olivia Lopez and husband, Cruz, of Hereford, TX; Sons- Ventura Salgado, III of Sweetwater, Samuel Salgado and his wife, Wendy, of 29 Palms, California; Brother- Salvador Salgado of Sweetwater; Nieces- Maria Ornelas of Sweetwater, Georgina Rodriguez of Sweetwater, Audrey Basey of Leander; Nephews- Salvador Salgado, Jr. of Abilene, TX, Rocky Salgado of Floresville, TX, Mark Salgado of Floresville, TX; Grandson- Syna Salgado of 29 Palms, CA; Granddaughters- Sophia Salgado of 29 Palms, CA and Luzema Lopez of Hereford, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bentura, Sr. and Maria Salgado, his sister, Esperanza Garza, his brother, Benito Salgado and his nephew, Michael Salgado.

Pallbearers are Salvador Salgado, Sr. Salvador Salgado, Jr., Abraham Salazar, Joe Angel Sepeda, Arthur Deleon, and Jerry Espitia.

Honorary pallbearers are Rocky Salgado, Mark Salgado, Carlos Salazar, Abel Salazar, Eddie Salazar, Daniel Olguin, Salvador Cano, Mario Rios, Mike Martinez, and Robert Nunez.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
